K-Lock nuts may be used in applications where an
external tooth lockwasher and nut work together to create a locking
assembly. K-Lock nuts are a cost saving fastener - Since the washer
is captivated directly onto the nut, assembly time is cut dramatically.
The external lockwasher with its twisted teeth create the maximum
in holding power. K-Lock nuts are available in steel and also
stainless steel. The stainless steel nuts are unique in that the
hex nut is 300 series stainless (non-magnetic) and the captivated
washer is heat-treated 400 series stainless (magnetic). This allows
the washer teeth to "bite" into the nut and also the working surface
to create the ultimate in holding power.
